I was trying to find if the Capitol was occupied by Union troops during the Civil War and saw that the Wikipedia article on Washington, D.C., in the American Civil War had this:

On January 6, 2021, a mob of rioters supporting United States President Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election stormed the U.S. Capitol, some of which bore symbols declaring allegiance to the Confederacy.[12][13]

While the mob was dispersed later that day, this is the only time that forces operating under a Confederate battle flag were successful in seizing the United States Capitol.[14]

The Trump haters really dig deep to put their narrative out there.
