What is a reputable source for buying gold and silver? My husband and I are seriously thinking about buying some coins.

I’ve always used JM Bullion.

Shop around & read reviews. No deals now.

JM Bullion, APMEX , two highly recommended.Gainesville coins also. Shop the three, The historic shortages of six months ago faded away- but expect more shortly. COMEX bailed out by London, rumored to be under stress. The legendary greats are suggesting US sovereign gold and silver Eagles only, they can not be confiscated as in the past. My favorite is junk silver ( pre 64 silver coinage)...

I am meeting with a custom jeweler tomorrow about the possibility of buying two to three ounces of Gold. I do not like coins because you buy the coin not just the gold. I would prefer a Troy ounce bar.
