For security- We use a bot for new applicants and check their known email addresses beginning with the ones listed on the resume against many sites to see what they have used it to register for or to sign on with. It is easy to check company email addresses as well. This is SOP and helps build a profile of the individuals before they are employed. When you provide this “contact” information to your current or future employers beware. And unless you use a throw-away email for every site you have probably already been scanned.
