Sadly true. It's the same with him as it is with Pelosi: he'll get voted back to leader even if it's minority leader because he punishes people who go against him and that means there aren't enough people willing to take the chance of going against him and losing.
He should have been kicked out of leadership when he blew the 2018 midterms and let three or four additional seats get snatched away in Montana, West Virginia, and Arizona, something that is really glaring now. But no, they'll dutifully vote to make him minority leader and that slug Cornyn his number two and the crap will continue unabated.
