Timing the market is usually a losing proposition. Go look at a historical chart going back 30-40 years of the DOW and the S+P 500.
The problem with getting out is you have to get back in.
After 45 years of investing I’ve learned it’s not about getting in and out. It’s about WHAT you are in. I’m in almost everything that isn’t high risk. It’s all about balance among all those things. I’ve been retired about 11 years.
Yes but in those 30-40 years have the markets ever dealt with complete communist takeover or military response to internal treason? Which are the two options we are looking at. Weve never been anywhere close to this.

No problem if you quantify when to exit and when to enter.
It takes a 100% gain to erase a 50% loss.
