As a non-Catholic, I respect both of your positions. The Catholic church was hijacked years ago - like many other churches and institutions in our society. I personally would like to see it all exposed, but I’m not sure exposing it all at once is the best way. Perhaps the first step should be for Francis to step down, or be allowed to die of “natural causes” ... cough, cough. Any others involved should be removed one way or another. There needs to be a total house cleaning of the Catholic church just like with our government. I don’t even know if such a complete house cleaning is possible without destroying the church. But assuming it could be done, then maybe over a period of 1 or 2 years, the new church can start revealing the extent of the crimes, in a gradual, orderly way. Just my opinion.
The Church is not the Pope. The Church is not the Vatican or the Cardinals. The Church is the body of believers, the bride of Christ. All true Catholic believers must want everything to come out and let the cards fall where they may. It won’t destroy the church, the gates of hell will not prevail over the Church.
