I am so glad I turned Off automatic updates on my iPhone after I got it. Never trusted Apple. Why let them install whatever they want? Bad idea. No likey. 😌
Microsoft is no better. I had an auto update about a month ago. Now when I go to sites like Free Republic a get a warning message that site may not be secure.
I bought a password keeper a decade ago and lost it, along with 300 business and personal account passwords, last fall because of an Apple auto IOS update. The app maker stopped maintaining the app and didn’t take customer names in the early days of selling it. I was physically ill for 2 days over the loss of so much information and I’m still dealing with the repercussions of that. It was a fantastic app until the company stopped maintaining it so Apple deleted it. I didn’t know that could happen. Worst $5 I ever spent.
