There has certainly been a coup, but we won't be a banana republic (i.e., politically unstable).

Our country will be locked down in the same way the CCP controls the people of China.

The Democrat Party will try to incite the "radical" right (i.e., Trump supporters) to "rebelliousness" and then arrest those perceived to be the leaders. After those leaders are extracted and sent to the gulag, the Left will rinse and repeat until there are no more leaders.

I get your point and agree generally.

But I think of China as a banana republic as the person in charge is determined by the backing of the military.

If the PLA decided they would back someone other than Xi, Xi would be out.
