Best deer story that I’ve got. What I was going to college I worked the midnight shift.
One of my friends left a couple hours early to get out there for the hunt.
When we got out of work at our normal time we happened to drive past his house and his truck was still home, so we thought something must’ve gone wrong.
The next day he tells us that after he got home he got ready, went out and sat down on a log to wait for sunrise, and fell asleep.
Right at sunrise a deer walked past and woke him up. He shot it and gutted it, and was home in bed before we got out of work.
I was hunting with my BIL. He had to take a leak so he put his rifle in the truck and wandered off into the brush. A nice buck came by and stopped to graze by the truck. My BIL never saw him. I shot it and give my BIL grief to this day some 30 years later.
