Yes, at several outdoor events. Most recently the National Right to Life rally and the 2019 4th of July rally at the Lincoln Memorial. Last year's 4th was on the White House lawn and they had bullet proof glass behind him towards the Elipse.
I hadn’t ever seen that either and noted at times when they did side shots etc.
