If Trump can come through, great. In the meantime I’ve been getting ready for if he doesn’t. I’ve been working on how to make money without paying taxes on it. This year my only earned income will be Social Security. I don’t even have to withdraw the minimum from retirement accounts.

If the govt goes commie, I can be a commie too. I’m now a net receiver of benefits, no longer a net payer.

Patrick Kelly’s ‘Tax Free Retirement’ books are great guidance.

Make sure if you open an account you caveat on the account card that all money placed in or removed from it is designated “Lawful money of the uS per 12 USC Sec 411”. You won’t get paid interest but those dollars are not FRN’s or subject to their use fee...

>>If the govt goes commie, I can be a commie too.>> Me too.

My better angel and I were the right age for the “Clinton” loophole before they closed it. (It’s been grandfathered in for those born Jan. 1, 1954 or earlier).
I had to look at this a number of times and kept asking myself, “We(The U.S.A.) are not this nutz, are we?”

Essentially, I claimed SS at my full retirement age.
My wife, who was also at full retirement age, filed for SS under my account as a restricted application.
Benefits under her SS were suspended (though that’s not the word they use for this)
She then got half of my monthly benefit, while hers was making 8% a year for every year to age 70.
She was able to bank it all.
At 70 she claimed her own benefits (there’s no additional % increase after 70) which increased 32% over 4 years.
Since she is still working, her benefit every year gets adjusted upwards as they recalculate her highest 35 years of earnings.

She intends to retire end of the year so we’ll stop having taxes taken out of SS.(up to 85% of SS benefits can be taxed, depending on the amount of income earned.)

As bad as Illinois is, they don’t tax retirement income...yet.

Decent explanation here about SS

it goes against everything that we believe, but if we are forced under a communist system, then yes, we might as well get as much free cheese as anyone else....

I want to do what you do....get money tax free.....
