I'm not going to swear to it, but it looks like the stripes towards the back of the display (Washington Monument) are made up of state flags: I think they're in order by admission. Thus it wouldn't end up being red/white/blue striping like the US flag. And why there's so much yellow.

The display closer to the Capitol appear to US flags.

This is Hawaii and then Alaska. Arizona and New Mexico appear to be the sections beyond, towards the Capitol.

I guess that makes sense to them. Except the States weren’t meant to lead to a big centrist federal government. The leftists are trying to do away with the republic completely.
