A limited scope of the DC NG was approved back on 1/3 (with the President’s approval). Information I’ve seen shows that the Pentagon wanted a stronger presence and were rebuffed by Mayor Bowser several times, insisting they were there just for traffic control/checkpoints. This timeline clearly shows that Mayor Bowser reached out to the Pentagon at 1334 after the siege began, requesting additional forces.
If that was the case that Pelosi and Schumer called in the DC NG, then why is it that the call was at 1519 but the decision was made at 1504? Seems to me they were 15 minutes late in playing any part in the decision, and 3 hours late in even putting in the request.
