You are correct. When I was trying to find out exactly what organized events would take place and at what time in DC on January 6, I came up with two places where there would be speakers. One was where the President spoke near the ellipse and the second one in the grassy area that I pictured as between the Capitol and Union Station.

I have been in that grassy area listening to speakers from a stage in the past. I don’t know whatever happened to those speakers. Maybe it just fizzled. Maybe they never got a permit. It’s too late to go back now.

You are correct about a meeting area being between the Capitol and the Supreme Court building. I found a copy of a map posted by a Freeper showing that location labeled “Meet Here”. Maybe I just imagined that there would be speakers there.

I recently heard a caller on talk radio who had been on that east side of the Capitol building. He said that two young men were trying to rile up the crowd and get people to do you things beyond peaceful protest. He, and maybe a few others, yelled at them and those two people left. I do not know if unlawful behavior ever did take place on the east side of the Capitol building. The talk radio caller said that there were no fences keeping people off of the steps on that side of the Capitol.

I’m not sure exactly what the plan was for the Capitol. I signed up with both groups.

A few days ago, I went through my emails to see what I had from Stop the Steal (the Capitol group). I never saw a list of speakers for that event. I found an email from that morning; it says ‘Our presence outside of the US Capitol building will let Members of Congress know that we stand with Rep. Mo Brooks and his colleagues in the House of Representatives who will bravely object to the certification of the Electoral College.’

So I’m thinking their plan was just for an assembly of Trump supporters chanting, waving flags and signs. Just like the crowds we would see along the roadsides cheering for Trump.
