“this lid shortage has me concerned. I hate the Tatler and Harvest Guard reusable lids, but I do own some.”

Is there a lid shortage? I haven’t been buying any, just using what I stockpiled.

I bought a bunch of tattlers, figuring they would be better in a prepping scenario. I ended having to can water, just to learn how to make the stupid things work.

Not just lids, but jars, pressure canners and other supplies. The Corporate office for Ball said in a letter I can’t find right now that people should not expect stores to get any until at least April or later. Lehmans.com is not giving any future dates for additional supplies, just currently not available. You call them and they say maybe late spring or summer before they can accept orders again.

There are many China made lids showing up for big bucks on Amazon and eBay, but they don’t work, hold seals or you just don’t get them after paying. Huge scam going on, so anyone looking for them be careful. Here’s some info from MSM CNN is one also lol...

Is there a canning lid shortage?

The Latest COVID-19 Shortage Is Canning Lids. Looking for canning lids? There are none. Shelves are empty of canning supplies. It’s reminiscent of the Great Canning Lid Shortage of 1975 when there were congressional hearings into the crisis. Sep 20, 2020

Why is there a shortage of canning lids 2020?

(CNN) The increase in the number of people cooking and trying recipes during the pandemic has led to a surge in canning — because experienced canners are doing it more and novices want to give it a try. And that surge has led to a shortage in Mason jars and lids. Oct 7, 2020

Have you ever tried recycled Classico brand pasta sauce jars?
We’ve been canning with them for years.

Good results in water bath and pressure canner.
No more failures than with store bought canning jars.
