Thinking. If the power grid were to be compromised the need for power in and around the capitol would be in place. Since this is on the Mall, I'm guessing its equipment needed for the inaugural speeches ... etc.

That was actually my first thought. I have never followed a lot of the 10 days predictions and such but it does make you wonder... plus all the NG in the city. Things that make you go hmmm.
I want to believe that the good guys are going to sweep in and save the day (and the country)
