What I TOLD Nikk at the time was there was gun fire first. My thought “Oh God they just shot the VP “. It was obvious he was no longer at the mic. Doubt he had time to “adjourn” congress!

Pretty sure he can’t.
Though I don’t know the rules for a Joint Session, the Houses’ own rules put adjournment up to a vote so I feel sure that’s true for a Joint Session.
