Al Gore, Dan Quayle and Lyndon Johnson all gave up their Senate seats in early January, just before the new Congresses were sworn in. ThanQ for that. I read that story as an aside and I couldn’t find much of it anywhere else.
Her seat does not expire until 2022. I couldn’t find an explanation of why someone thought it was necessary she takes the oath.
I stopped looking.
