I didn't realize the two were good friends and this blogger has an interesting take on it - that DJT would have supported Kennedy Jr. as President. I can see that being desirable to DJT. When interviewed and asked if he wanted to be president, he said no, and that he considered it a mean existance (probably first time I hear that use of mean outside of Charles Dickens) .
If true, DJT would have lost a rare friend, one with similar passion for justice. Further, he saw a much hoped for warrior taken down by worthless enemies, a warrior who was himself the son of another hoped for warrior taken down by the unworthy. Tremendous losses. Wonder if it's true.

That’s why you see true old school liberals like Alan Dershowitz being pushed out. He’s one among many left by the party.

JFK Jr. and Donald Trump shared many of the same ideals in regards to many of the actions Trump has undertaken like Criminal Justice reform. Most importantly, the two men shared a great distaste for the criminal juggernaut entrenched within our government.

It is far far worse than your wildest dreams. JFK Jr and Trump understood this. Did it play a role in the loss of JFK Jr? I don’t know. Would people at the time have recognized the threat he posed down the road? Absolutely.
Trump never worried them so much. They never thought he’d have a chance at winning. It’s unlikely he was ever seen as a major threat. Not until early in 2016 when spying as well as the attempted creation of a false narrative against his campaign began. After his election there’s been a concerted effort to complete a coup.
