A Maryland woman was taken for a wild ride Thursday when she stepped on the wrong pedal and sent her SUV onto railroad tracks in Rockville, according to police.
A photo posted on Facebook by the Rockville City Police Department shows the vehicle nearly perpendicular to the ground after crashing through a chain-link fence and landing on top of railroad tracks in the city.

Perhaps the two independent hoist drums helped?
LOL! I have a friend that swears by that.
I'm bugged by drivers of light colored Asian cars.
I was about a block away when it happened.
How terrifying for that poor woman.
No. It’s generational. In Maryland a kid can take the ten question written test then get his permit. He then gets fifty hours of driving under the tutelage of parents who learned from parents who don’t drive well etc. after the fifty hours then he takes driver ed.
AAA does a survey of accidents every year. Baltimore/Washington wins about every year. Empirical evidence of the worst drivers
I started up power plants for five years at the beginning of my career. Occasionally I’d get to go on a site during erection. Watching those guys building steel and rigging to hoist 1,000 ton components 200 feet in the air was incredible. And that’s nothing compared to the guys who build off-shore oil platforms. I always respect those guys in those jobs.
I would argue that the disco boy wannabes on the crotch rocket rice burners with the fat tires are probably the worst of all.
Can’t remember if it was 95 or the GSP, but I saw a couple of ‘em do that weaving thing at very high speeds while we all were doing 60-70 mph in really crowded traffic.
SMH. Organ donors.
I hadn’t even noticed that. I figured there was a spreader carrying the loads of the two axles. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t know you could get cranes like that.
Come to New Jersey. Here driving is a contact sport.
Grew up in Rockville when the population was 20k. Graduated from RMHS we had a 59-0 record in football under coach Roy Lester. Good days.
Back then if you didn’t keep up your liability insurance up the State Troopers would show up in a couple of days and confiscate you license.
Usdd to have a statue of a confederate soldier in front of the courthouse.
Now its just one shithole from Betheda to Dickerson. Monkey County - boy, that’s the truth.
I had Drivers Ed in High School in Prince George’s County, MD, in 1976. I don’t know if they still teach it in public schools any more.
But it’s still the influx of people moving to the DC area for military/gov’t/contractor jobs. I worked with a ton of them.
Same in Northern Virginia, where the drivers are worse. :)
I’m from Detroit. Turn signals are a sign of weakness and it’s not tailgating until your bumpers are touching.
That sounds exciting!
If you were a problem they'd never find you. You'd be thrown into a cranberry bog and that was that.
