Some on this thread may remember me saying this early on in this virus dust up. They said that lock downs would be lifted when there was a vaccine; I pointed out that that was a lie because almost all viruses mutate regularly - like the seasonal flu virus vaccine proves - and that such mutation would figure into eternal lock down tyranny - if the people accept it!
Too many people are accepting it! CoViD-19 became a vehicle to overthrow an election and it is becoming a vehicle to overthrow the Republic. It is not much more virulent than the seasonal flu virus and the death rates are similar. Many age groups are almost totally immune to the infection, minus some underlying pathology, yet we are closing down most of society in some areas.
More people by far are dying of auto accidents; shall we empty the roads? Eventually people will accept that also as things are going now. {It is that unknown Constitutional principle that the government has the authority to keep you from dying - from whatever ...}
Related to your comment, the CDC has put out a warning that the new mutation has likely been in the US for some time.
They say it’s a problem because it “could cause more cases and hospitalizations”.
Seems like there’s a possible outcome missing from the warning, trying to think what it could be.
I saw a headline/snip a few days ago, on FR, that this “new” mutation is more catching but NOT more virulent as in more severe sickness.
