I have been hearing that limp excuse for years that the vote is a term limit.

You got that right. I’ve been saying for years (decades, really) that it’s backwards that we quickly demand a resignation from the losing coach of our favorite sports team — and get it, even though it has NO bearing on our lives — than to vote out (or not vote for) a worthless representative.
