My interest in Ammonium Nitrate ("AN") explosions began when I felt the shock and saw the orange-ish mushroom cloud from the explosion of the AN-loaded SS Grandcamp in Texas City, TX, in April, 1947. I observed it from my 4th grade classroom, with a clear view of the scene across the flat coastal prairie. [Yep -- I'm THAT old!] '-)
In all, I've analyzed
Whan the data input flow slows down, I'll be using Beirut data & imagery to put Nashville's blast in perspective -- right here on our Q thread. Working on it!
I'll try to remember to ping you, when I do.

Ping me too, please, when you post your analysis.
I just read an account about OKC that said ANFO is great for moving dirt around but it’s a slow explosion and impossible to put enough of it into a van in a parking lot to blow a building down. But that the building was done on the cheap and there wasn’t as much rebar in the concrete as there was supposed be, and that there were shaped charges that cut through the support beams (just like 9/11).
