Jones might have called for some kind of protest on Jan. 6th beforehand - I really don’t know. But it was Trump’s call for people to show up that made it what it is. I doubt people in the thousands were going to be taking off work, booking flights and hotels, etc. just based on Jones.

Today’s Thomas Wictor Video Synopsis:

Witctor’s main point is that Patrick Byre’s claims should not be taken seriously, and they are part of a deliberate disinformation campaign by POTUS designed to keep the enemy guessing. He makes the case that Byrne is unreliable and has been duped in the past.

Today’s Simon Parkes Video Synopsis:

Parkes responds to the rumors about infighting within Trump’s inner circle, and the claims that advisors are urging him not to declare martial law. According to Parkes, there is some truth to those claims but they are being exaggerated and mischaracterized. According to Parkes, there are some advisors who advised him not to use martial law - for now. They’re not advocating that it be removed as an option, just that POTUS should try to resolve things through the courts and legislatures one last time before resorting to martial law. Trump apparently agreed to give these approaches a little more time.

Nevertheless, martial law was raised as a legitimate option, and the public advocacy for martial law by Flynn and Lin Wood had a positive effect, intended or not, in that it made the state legislators realize that if Trump is forced to go that route, they will share some of the blame because they were unwilling to prevent it when they could have. This also explains the main purpose of the rally, which is to encourage legislators who might be wavering, to do the right thing.

Parks got a few details wrong, I believe, but in general his claims strike me as sound and reasonable. One of the details he got wrong, I think, is that he claimed that legislators from the states in question would be in D.C. on Jan. 6th and that the rally was designed mostly for them. I don’t believe that the state legislators would be required to be in D.C. on that date. But aside from that, the idea that an overwhelming display of public support for Trump could be a strong motivator for law makers, both state and federal, to do the right thing makes sense to me. I think a lot of us had already come to the same conclusion.
