Bubba’s order to make the Grand Escalante Staircase region (Utah) a national monument, which removed all mining rights from the region. This was 1 of 3 regions in the world listed as a source for sulfur-free “sweet coal” - a very valuable resource. With Utah off the table, the other two regions included an inaccessible mountain range in Columbia and Indonesia. This left Indonesia as the sole supplier of this resource, controlled by the ethnic Chinaman, Mochtar Riady. Riady heads The Lippo group, a financial heavyweight who was front and center with the BCCI scandal. Another major derp-scandal that made the news for a short time, then just listed away. Riady was a major financial backer of Billy Jeff.
