Most people don’t understand the Chinese version of communism.
A bit of history is in order for context.
China went from imperial rule to rule by competing independent warlords.
Mao tried to reinstall a form of imperial rule with communism.
What it evolved into was a collection of independent warlords loosely under the guise of imperial communist rule.
Our Deep State is bad. Theirs is much worse. Their gov is made up of layers of cult of personality blocks constantly competing for power. The Chinese military runs its own game. Various political districts run their own game. Chinese intel apparatus runs its own game. They’re often in a covert war against each other. It is a brutal and murderous system of constantly clashing power blocks.
No one person is in control of the reigns of power in China. The upper level of government is tolerated to exist because it is convenient and that is all.
Xi, as the supreme ruler of the CCP, is little more than a figurehead in the current gov system of China.
