I seem to recall some open battle between us and Communist China all over the hills of Korea.
We’re still there China isn’t - how do you explain that?

That was a stalemate, not a clear military victory for either side. The Chinese got what they wanted - they held us off from advancing any further North. The Chinese could and would lose 10 million men without batting an eye (dictatorships can do what they want, as we're about to find out if Kamala Harris becomes President). Do you think the US would stand for anything like that many casualties?

The only thing that truly makes your point is the logistics. In order to have a face to face battle, either side would have to move vast amounts of men and supplies over the Pacific Ocean. Which means, while they almost certainly could beat us in open battle, that will never happen, just because of logistics.
