The data has been published and thoroughly reviewed. Fudging facts with this level of visibility would be suicidal for either company considering the level of blowback from the public, regulators, Congress, etc. It would literally end either of them.
I'm counting on them being in it for profit. By making a safe and effective vaccine, they stand to make billions of dollars. Good. Safe and effective vaccines end the shutdowns and get everyone back to work. That will save the economy trillions of dollars in damages. Spend billions to save trillions?
