This is why I have stopped listening to talk radio. Reading freerepublic and a few other websites keeps me up-to-date on the latest news. I do wish that Freerepublic posters would return to its early days when people really did read the articles. Many websites like gateway pundit use headlines and lead paragraphs that are not the same as what is contained in the story.

It is a waste of time to read comments on click-bait headlines. It’s also waste of time to hear talk show hosts or their uninformed callers discuss their opinions.

Truth! I don’t listen to talk radio anymore either. Maybe I would if I was commuting but even then I’m more likely to slip in an Iron Maiden CD at this point.

Yes, a quick summary is best to make a point when posting an article.

Time is something I don’t always have to read through articles.

I can attest that for decades freepers were not good at reading and finishing articles before discussing them...lol....its kind of bragging rights....

its not as easy now on FR as say 15 yrs ago because of all the infringement rights etc that a lot of media have....we can't just post an entire article now, we have to go to the link, and yes, it is time consuming....

more info and faster info and more insightful info is found on FR no question about that...
