It is unfortunate to see in reading posts that some FReepers seem borderline gleeful about this sad and tragic news.

The attitude on display here, that cyclists deserve whatever they get for daring to use public roads, is one of the reasons I've pretty much given up cycling.

Yes, very dark hearts here that can attract dangerous karma. They seemingly cannot contain themselves.
On this and other related FR threads they are twisting themselves into pretzels on why it was not *really* the truck driver's fault.
They would meanwhile go ballistic if a DUI driver recklessly injured or killed someone in their family. Very little self-awareness, it seems.

I moved to a place where riding is difficult due to narrow roads, more hills than I like and ignorant people like way too many on this site.

They seem to forget that the Free in Free Republic doesn’t give them full rein to criticize whatever they personally don’t like
