There’s a huge difference between the people in the hollers that are miles and miles from town and the town Folk.
I’m looking at Kentucky, when I went to visit my best friend there it was amazing how upscale everything was. Or maybe I’ve just gotten used to the opposite. But no the horse farms were pretty nice, it was nice to see animals treated kindly
As a descendent of those ‘people in the hollers’, I agree completely. Sounds like you’re better off moving to a gentrified area.
A reading suggestion, if you haven’t read it already (I read it years ago): Christy by Catherine Marshall. I know it was made into a series fairly recently but just like all books-to-movies/tv, the book is much better.
