I doubt they’re actually in Alpine; they were in El Paso earlier today. No reason for them to actually go through Alpine to get to San Antonio. I suspect they past a sign on I10 that said Alpine and she’s using that as a reference point.

There’s a rest area on I10 before getting to Fort Stockton, and 2 truck stops in Ft. Stockton. And I’m sure they have enough diesel to keep the bus running to keep warm even if they don’t make any of those places. I’ve pulled over on exit/entrance ramps more than once to sleep.

I know, Alpine is off I10, figured they were looking at a sign.
