I’ve been pondering. Some of the threads on FR said NOT to use the Metro. They suggested parking at Arlington National Cemetery and walking across the bridge into DC.
Which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I know people do it, you can see them doing it on Google Maps when you drop the little man onto the bridge. But I would feel like a sitting duck if some group of people decided to do something stupid on the bridge. Like attacking the people walking, shooting at them, or trying to shove them off the bridge.
Parking lots/garages are open that day; I’ve already reserved a parking spot about a block away. But I know traffic is going to be horrendous. I’ve been leaning towards the Metro again; I’m willing to lose the $20 I paid for the parking.
As for leaving, I was thinking more 3 PM!!
