Would voting records or voter ID information be involved?

In theory, yes, since the Secretary of State’s website is part of the main state website. I can’t look up my voter registration information right now, for example. Site’s down.

In practicality, no. The state’s website is always under hacker attack (any government or public site is, even FR). There are three backup copies of the state information stored offsite in different locations around the state in case the state computer system ever has to be restored. I forget how often the copy is made; at least once a week I know.

The personnel website I work on was being upgraded one time and was so badly messed up, they had to stop the upgrade and upload the information stored on the backup copy until they could figure out the upgrade issues. All that to say, no voter info would have been destroyed even if someone got to the state servers.
