Yeah that’s how we ended up in Tennessee. We figure middle of the country, we would either have good winters and summers or the worst of both of them. Turned out to be they are good.
Definitely thought about those northern states. And even though lots of people move there for a prepping situation, I couldn’t see having to deal with those winters and snow. And a very short growing season. They just didn’t make sense even though the population is probably best there for prepping
When I was younger, I wanted to homestead. But then I realized I couldn’t deal with losing the animals, either because I put them in the freezer or because of illness/injury.
At this point, I don’t have the skills or desire to homestead. That’s why I decided my best option is to move to a low population area and live in an apartment. Stockpiling *is* a skill I have! LOL
