I think a LOT of things our parents did....innocent things....would be considered abuse, by lefty standards, today.
MAKING kids go outside and play???? The horror!! CPS visit, for you!
I remember when one of my boys was probably 7-8, and played baseball at a local school which had a small baseball field. There were several trees next to the field and young kids were climbing on it. I heard a parent complain that they should cut down the trees because it was too dangerous for kids.
I said something to her, sarcastically, that maybe we should do away with playgrounds too. She actually said that was a great idea.
These are the same people, no doubt, who think that government should do all our think for us and keep us safe. Covid is a great example of this. The bottom line is this, they believe government should replace God.
