Got one sibling; we’re estranged. He has one daughter that I met when she was around 2, maybe? She’s around 20 now. I have a pretty dysfunction family.
No children of my own.
There are a 2-3 people that I would call more than acquaintances, but I really don’t mind. I’m an introvert at heart. Dealing with people at work all day is enough human interaction for me! Most extroverts get the willies thinking about no human interaction (including phone) for a few hours. I feel the same way about having to spend time in a group of people, even if I know them.
I’ll give you an idea how bad I am. My friend (one of the 2-3 people who count as friends) cooks in bbq compeitions. One year I arranged for her to cook bbq for my birthday dinner at her house. We invited several people that we both know (her work group works with my work group but we’re different departments). Although I knew these people and interact with them on a daily basis, and I was polite and wasn’t shy, I spent my time playing with the dogs. LOL

Vaccines are shipped and on their way, FIVE YEARS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. Get well USA. Get well WORLD. We love you all!
I share your personality type, but no, I don’t want to get to know you. 🤓
I bet your niece would love to meet you, again, some day.
She may become the bridge that ties....to family, friendship....who knows.
I have a friend in a similar situation, and, by a miracle....she’s reconnecting with her niece (brother’s daughter, as well). Who knows where it will ever lead...but, for now, I think it’s bringing her some peace just to know they’re talking.
FR is a great gathering place, for FRiends, for all....intro AND extroverts :-)
“I have a pretty dysfunction family.”
Do you want to have a competition for whose if the most dysfunctional? LOL! I don’t know what the winner would get though...
“I spent my time playing with the dogs”
Dogs are the best! I’m sure they appreciated it.
I’m the same way. I wouldn’t say I’m an introvert, I enjoy being with people and I’m always the comedian, but only for a short period of time.
