I beg your pardon? I believe "Old Mr. Mack" is a Virginia wine. I just spent four years in Georgia, and although peaches are huge there, the local wine was muscatel. "Red Rocket" and "White Rocket" are also big sellers in those southern states that have ABC stores, meaning, no spirits outside of the ABC stores and some bars. "Red Rocket" and "White Rocket" have the same alcohol content as some spirits without being LEGALLY spirits.

And of course, the serious folks just make moonshine rather than wine. One co-worker from Alabama described the still he set up in college, including an aquarium water heater for temperature regulation, and Tums antacids to control pH. He also used stainless steel tubing rather than the more common copper. He was very proud of his product but made me promise not to tell his children of his past indiscretions.
