Outpatient total hip replacement! I didn’t know there was such a thing ‘til my neighbor had it done two months ago and my sister, last month. They are both doing fine.
Best of luck to you in your recovery!

Had mine done 3 years ago. A 3-inch incision that is no longer visible. Both times I woke up, got dressed, a few minutes of physical training instruction and 45 minutes later my wife drove me home. Walked upstairs to bed and had three days off from work. After the three days, worked from home for a few weeks then back to BAU. Some wusses I know took 6 weeks off from work for the same surgery.
On the other hand, my ex-mother-in-law had total hip replacement back in the 1960s. 16-hour radical surgery and off her feet for 6 months. Arthritis runs through her family as a bad gene. She's had more than 20 subsequent hip surgeries since - hardly anything left to anchor.
