So now she’ll like girls as a boy. Makes a little sense. My wife has taught girls who transitioned to be gay. That didn’t make any sense.
There seem to be two distinct types of transgender in both biological males and females.
There are XY males who are only attracted to other XY males and who consider themselves to be a better fit for the female role as they are feminine in appearance and actions.
Then there are XY males who are only attracted to XX females but have an irresistible fetishistic urge to present as a female in appearance and action...this is called autogynophilia. Most people who are autogynophiliacs are XX females who are strongly aroused at the idea of having an attractive feminine appearance...this of course goes mostly unnoticed. Autogynophilia works fine for an XX female but is a real hardship for those who are XY...for obvious reasons.
This concept of two basic types of transgender is “Blanchard’s transsexualism typology”. It also applies to XX transexuals who are XX females attracted to other XX females and consider themselves to be masculine in appearance and action. Then there are XX who are attracted to XY males but who are most comfortable presenting as a biological male because there is a sense of arousal attached to looking and acting like a male...you see these people often, it is sometimes hard to discern if they are male or female until you notice their husband or boyfriend interacting with them...this works out fine for them as societal norms allow for it and no one really notices.
It all seems to be closely tied to testosterone levels..without high testosterone the autogynophiliac XY male generally has a lessening of the fetishistic drive to present as female in appearance and action. During transition, once estrogen therapy is introduced and testosterone levels drop to low-levels the fetish often loses much of its power. This can cause a transitioned male-to-female wondering why they were so driven to do such a thing.
In XX females who have the similar condition, called autoandrophilia, their fetish to present as male in appearance and behavior actually can increase after transition or HRT because now their testosterone level is raised dramatically.
It’s all complicated and even clinicians who deal with it have trouble sorting it all out.
