Because they are stoopid and left home with only a partial charge.

‘Tis but growing pains. I’m sure they will have all 11,600 charging stations with standard receptacles, pay systems, access and additional stations to meet the burgeoning need created by their plan within the next 10 years.

Some of the electric stuff is tempting for some of our needs but I am not ready to turn in the Cummins or the tractors and other diesel stuff.

I have considered a Tesla for Wife’s next car given most of our travel is easily withing 100 miles radius with an occasional 400 mile trip. I doubt we will ever drive more than 400 miles in a day anymore if the day comes we decide to actually go somewhere.

She is phobic about her starter battery going out. Can you imagine how she would be with an electric car? Oh my!

Lol at your wife's worry. Been there done that. The friends that have Teslas really like them. Just change tires on occasion if needed. Not bad for maintenance.

Charge at home. Have no problem finding stations on road trips. The bigger the battery the bigger the store and the quicker charge time.

I have a top end Mercedes and honestly would love to see them come out with some affordable electric options as well as self drive technology. But I swear Mercedes must make a huge amount of their money on maintenance lol. So are taking their time. (Mercedes has a self drive futuristic concept car that will take awhile to make and it looks very expensive. But we'll see when it comes out. California's totalitarian car laws will have pushed that production up.)

Also Tesla has the self drive functionality. A lower level one just comes with the car and a full version if you pay a lot more for it. Either way. More innovative than my Mercedes. It would be fun and inexpensive to own a Tesla in California anyway. My only gripe was years ago when I sat in their high end one. The interiors weren't up to even close to Mercedes luxury. But they will get close eventually. I will be test driving one soon though. So hopefully that's improved for us diva types lol. Good luck with making your decision. :D
