“Though the strange British Labour party mania for taxing everything allowed for kit cars such as the Lotus 7 to escape the most onerous taxes. “

It wasn’t just the Seven. Just about every Lotus car until 1973 could be purchased as a kit.

And it wasn’t a bad idea, and not only from a tax avoidance standpoint, because even factory assembled Lotus cars felt like kit cars.

“Ever see the Lucas T-shirt? “On, Off, Flicker””

There was also the other Lucas 3-position switch - smoke, smolder, and burn.

“I couldn’t imagine stopping every 150 miles for a few hours of charging.”

Which is why I don’t thing full EV’s are a good solution. Both of the cars I have are gasoline powered, and between the two, I can still cover 300 miles in one of them without worry.

My Miata will do about 30 mpg on the highway, but it only carries about 12 gallons of fuel. The Benz has a 21-gallon tank, and if I can resist the temptation to drive it at autobahn speeds it can go about 500 miles before I need to refill it.

I do event marketing and customer training. My company vehicle is a F150 and I often pull a 16’ trailer loaded with gear.

Even with that I get about 200-250 miles out of a tank.

I get better mileage on my 10-speed Trek bicycle.

1) Have you seen the price of a 257 calorie Big Mac verses a 31,500 calorie gallon of gas?

2) Have you calculated the emergency room carbon footprint of a dislocated shoulder or worse?

I feel the same way about the new vaccines.

Not interested in being a lab rat.

I shudder to imagine a Lucas Electric car.

That's one heck of a lot of smoke to cram into a battery pack!

Problem is, the hydrogen pumping stations, we need them all over the country, like gas stations.

I think it will happen.

Nonsense! Dihydrogen monoxide is the #1 greenhouse gas in the Earth's atmosphere.

You want to pump more into the atmosphere?

What's wrong with you?

I saw a Tesla with the license plate “AMPERE” .

Had I been able to meet him at a light, I would have asked if he was an Uber driver, would he be able to make ends meet with a fare a day?

You really dodged a bullet. I had a Peugeot 404.

There’s a reason so many French cars get burnt in a riot. Hint: the rioters aren’t the ones torching them...

Obviously, this means the US Government needs to cut HUGE checks to lots of kickback contractors who will build millions of charging stations all over the United States, just like they did to create gas statio...UH...ER...never mind.
