Here is a list of double-quotes HTML codes. I'm going to include spaces, so the text shows; followed by another row, not including such spaces.
The problem characters should appear to be different. These are all right closing double-quotes, or plain upright double-quotes:
& quot ; "
" "
Those look the same to me.
- - - - - - -
& # 34 ; "
" "
Those look the same to me.
- - - - - - -
& # 132 ; „
„
Those do NOT look the same to me.
- - - - - - -
& # 148 ; ”
”
Those do NOT look the same to me.
- - - - - - -
& # 168 ; ¨
¨ ¨
Those look the same to me. (I am not sure what that symbol is.)
- - - - - - -
FR sees 132 and 148 as some other, right, double-quotes character, that is not a part of the traditional 1 thru 255 HTML code.
- - - - - - -
& # 8221 ; ”
” ”
Those look the same to me.
- - - - - - -
& # 8222 ; „
„ „
Those look the same to me.
- - - - - - -
& # 8243 ; ″
″ ″
Those look the same to me.
- - - - - - -
And all three of those examples, look the same to me.
