I’m beginning to accept Google as an “enemy state.” Sides are being drawn, and they and the rest of big tech are clearly hostile to our free republic. Such a declaration is not to be taken lightly, it has ramifications far beyond stripping a script tag and would fundamentally change the nature of this site. (Do you think links to AP, CNN, WaPo, YouTube, Twitter, etc., are not just as dangerous?)

Thanks for the reply. I don’t have a useful response, and I’ll be the first to admit that you understand the technical details several orders of magnitude better than I do.

But I’ll continue to wish that there would be no Google Java Scripts on any page of FR. Not that it harms me, since I know how to block them. But I doubt that even 15% of the users of this site know how to do it, despite my (and a few others) occasional attempts to educate them on it.

But at least your own programming allows us full functionality of the site even if we do have Google blocked.

I have quit visiting websites that do require allowing the Google bots to run for functionality. Some of them, it has cost them thousands of dollars a year of my business.
