According to this arrest report, Nagdy was found by

inside of a vehicle he was stealing from. Police say Nagdy admitted to taking money from vehicles and had attempted to gain access into other cars.

It would not surprise me if some of the Black BLM’ers decided they’d had quite enough of ‘outsiders’ trying to capture the limelight and infamy. A petty disagreement can quickly take on deadly overtones at 12.30 Midnight when the streets are mostly deserted.
