They tried to call a lawyer. None found in the office the day before Thanksgiving. They are saying that in Oklahoma they can do that. Whereas, we know in Texas they can’t walk in like that.
I have daughter documenting. Didn’t know what else to say. It was my understanding that a child can’t be questioned without an advocate? 7 have been. They are saying they feel that this particular granddaughter is withholding info. She is 13 and pissed. Because in her words, “They are tearing apart my family.” I told her to tell them that.
Reported quote from POTUS at hearing in PA (we have it all)
“…what we need is to have some judge to listen to it properly without having a political opinion OR HAVING ANOTHER KIND OF PROBLEM BECAUSE WE HAVE EVERYTHING.”
It's in the Miranda Warning.
They cannot be compelled to talk to the police if they request a lawyer.
Shut this down ASAP until they have a lawyer.
"I refuse to make any further statements without my lawyer present" is all they have to say. Repeat it over and over and over until the police relent.
The police will try to intimidate them but they must remain firm and assert their rights.
