Should we Christians call down fire on our enemies? Michael Brown on post-election fights: 'We seem to be moved by malice more than by mercy'
World Net Daily ^ | 11/23/2020 | Michael Brown

As the church of America becomes increasingly divided along political lines, a dangerous tendency is developing. Our party is the party of God; the other is the party of the devil. Our cause is entirely righteous; theirs is entirely wicked. We can therefore call down curses on our political enemies, since they are doing the devil's work.

It is no longer the kingdom of God vs. the kingdom of Satan, it is the Republicans vs. the Democrats and Trump vs. Biden. That's how we divide.

Recently, I was alarmed to see Christians praying with great fervor online, calling down divine judgment on those who allegedly committed voter fraud.

There was no concern shown for the state of their souls. There was no fervent cry that God would save them and grant them repentance. Instead, the prayers were for their destruction. The evildoers must be removed!

This is not the Spirit of God. This is not the heart of our Father. This is not the Jesus way.

Of course we pursue justice. Of course we pray for corruption to be exposed. Of course we take godly action. The last thing I'm advocating is passivity and faithless resignation. . . . . . .

This article gave me a pause for thought. I for one have been praying fervently to God for Him to open His Floodgates of Truth and Justice on our country and for Him to take those who wish to ruin the sovereignty of our Republic out of their positions of authority. All true believers in Christ were sinners saved by God's Mercy and Grace through the shed blood of Jesus at Calvary. Everyone will be judged and God is very specific about what is going to happen to those who refuse to acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. I just spotted a massive amount of sparrows honing in on my bird feeders and recalled the passage that God knows each feather on each of those birds. . .not to mention the number of hairs on my very head. He is the Master of Ultimate High Tech! God is in control and we as believers know how all of this eventually goes down. It's in the Book! Keep praying everyone!

This is what I like about being an atheist. I want my enemies consumed by flames and then fed to the kraken while I watch, smiling and stroking a white cat.

Our party is the party of God; the other is the party of the devil.

The Democrat Party publicly rejected God three times on national TV at its 2012 convention. Check it out.

Proudly pushing the Satanic agenda since them (of course, it was before, but it has accelerated the pace since then).

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

I guess the author never read the Psalms of David:

Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me;
Fight against those who fight against me.
2 Take hold of buckler and shield
And rise up as my help.
3 Draw also the spear and the battle-axe to meet those who pursue me;
Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”
4 Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life;
Let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.
5 Let them be like chaff before the wind,
With the angel of the Lord driving them on.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery,
With the angel of the Lord pursuing them.
7 For they hid their net for me without cause;
Without cause they dug a pit for my soul.
8 Let destruction come upon him when he is unaware,
And let the net which he hid catch him;
Let him fall into that very destruction.

Psalm 35: 1-8

Who are your enemies? Christians? Jews? Buddhists?

Actually I disagree. Our national sin is abortion. After 9/11 our country went hard wicked. We are currently under judgement for this wickedness. In Leviticus the rules are laid down for those that worship Molech and those that stand by and do nothing. Death by stoning is what is required under the law for this abomination. The only thing that can save our nation is to turn to God and to force the end of abortion. If we fail in ending this abomination our nation will be taken away by our enemies such as the one worlders and the chicoms. The choice is between. God and Satan, the battle will be physical as well as spiritual.

Why doesn’t the author ask for mercy from our enemies to us instead?

We are in an ideological war. From a Marxist viewpoint, an atheistic mind is already ¾-conquered.
That is a warning from The Naked Communist, the book that listed the 45 goals the communists had (and have) for the USA.

Have you listened to the Pope lately?

not unique to atheists

we all want proper justice

the fact some people think they are being unjustly treated when they aren’t, etc doesn’t mean we all don’t have an innate desire for justice

especially for those that remain unrepentant and become worse and worse

Red herring.

And frankly (hopefully that doesn’t turn into a pun given the subject), it solidifies the warning from that book as I stated it.

The Pope represents a fraction of the collective Christian faith and is not a good argument to try and condemn Christianity. All Protestant and some Catholics do not trust the current Pope and see him as a blasphemy. Many non-Catholics such as myself view the Papacy as blasphemous despite who sits as its chief Cardinal (Pope).
