Post of the day!
Thank you, Professional. High praise coming from a Freeper of your standing.
This whole thing is making me heartsick.
When Obama won in 2008 and again in 2012, I did not feel this way. The fact that this election has even a chance of being stolen (never mind the odds are heavily in favor that it will happen) due to obvious, widespread, and worst of all, in-your-face illegality is what fills me with ominous dread and shame.
Shame that, on my watch as an American, the existence of this country if this election stands, feels to me like a torpedoed ship that has somehow managed to put out the fires and patch the hull these past sixty years, but suddenly a bulkhead gives way and the ship begins the long descent towards the black bottom of the ocean.
And that bulkhead, our electoral process, that bulkhead gave way because our fellow Americans (ostensibly) were the ones hammering away at that bulkhead with hammers and cutting torches. They even opened the watertight hatches deliberately to let the water through.
If this stands, for the rest of my life, I will be haunted that there must have been something I could have done to make a difference, but didn’t.
Sigh. I just don’t feel that a blatantly subverted electoral process is an insult our Republic can survive. I hope to God I am wrong.
