Aha, I was thinking of Yazidi, I believe. Something to do with a peacock symbol, in the faint recesses of my memory. So some follow Zoroaster, interesting. Iran was Zoroastrian (for 2000 years, before that, Hindu) until Mohammedaism was forced on them, nailed shut around 1700 from my reading.

I think they still practice their true religion undercover in Iran. It is their great national religion, and from my reading not a bad one, unlike their official “state” religion.
