Just dropped this on Ransomnote's wonderful thread.

There is a darkness there. I urge you all to travel beyond the trees to our brothers and sisters who may have lost their way. No time for recrimination, only to bring light to the darkness.

It goes like this (the fourth the fifth):

A poster posted thusly:

Not interested any more. Now, folks are beginning to know how I feel when I tried for YEARS to stand up for what was right in the public schools and no one came to my defense. Enjoy it folks, a lot of us have already been there. And, there’s nothing you can do about it.

(to which I responded)

Grima Wormtongue has spoken. This is the foul sickness that plagues too many of us.

The younger generations of man have not lived through what our old, done men have, and they took to the streets in their hordes for The Donald, as witnessed in numerous internet videos and rallies across the land. They delivered to Donald Trump 80 million votes and more in one of the biggest blow-outs in American Presidential history.

And they would steal that from us.

We do not have the luxury of cynicism, of I told you so's. We must put aside our petty differences. We must fight on every battlefield of the information age and beyond. We must fight for this America, or it will be no more.

I urge those of us who still have some fire left in their belly to rise like the proud Americans you always were before the malaise took hold. To cease displaying your fear and despondency for the enemy to look upon and to gloat. To shame those who would urge surrender, as if you were channeling George S. Patton in a medical tent.

Arise and do what you can to ware the people of the evil force that would ruin this shining city on a hill, and which would enslave us. Arise in defiance of the Covid police state. Arise to put halt to the Great Reset. And arise to fight for the President who fights for you.

Arise now, arise, Riders of Théoden! Dire deeds awake: dark is it eastward. Let horse be bridled, horn be sounded! Forth Eorlingas!

AMERICANS, WE MUST RISE!

Rise.

Reading Tolkien’s quote at the bottom literally made my hair stand on end. The words, the rhythm, the spirit.

One of my all time favorite lines in my all time favorite book and movies. Awesome, thank you! I feel like we are in such a colossal battle for the West right now.. That quote and the essay with it gives me such courage!
